Petting Zoo, Train Ride and Picnic

Today we took the kids to a local park that has the neatest petting zoo.  I mean it was an actual zoo with bears and snakes but the petting zoo, that was were the real show was!!  There were a lot of goats and they were super friendly!  They literally clean the poop up the second the animals poop...which I love.  They loved to be groomed and Zackary really took to brushing each of them.  Emeline just wanted to take a break with them and relax!

We have a certain pumpkin patch we go to each year that has a petting zoo.  It's disgusting compared to this place...going to have to come here for pumpkin picking this year!  Hope they offer that!

The train ride takes you all around the park and of course as we passed the waterfall I knew this place would be a hit!  When we were all done with the train we had a nice picnic in a wide open shaded grass area.  We will be back soon!

Easter Day

Easter Day we went over to my stepsisters house.  My mom put on a Easter egg hunt for the kids and they had so much fun.  Once the okay was given to start hunting Zackary went to it.  Ben helped him while I helped Emeline.  Zackary searched high and low and really got into it with his cousin AG.  It was so cute to watch.  Emme sat a lot in the grass and practiced putting them in her bag and taking them out, opening and closing.  I think next year she will drop kick kids to get her eggs!

Emme looked super adorable in her tutu that she got for her 1st birthday.  Like a little bunny angel!

Notice the above golf caddy Zackary got from my mom.  That is like the 3rd set of golf gear he has gotten.  I wonder if he'll play? 

Our neighbors bought Emme these bunny ears.  She wore them well and surprisingly kept them on awhile so I could show off her cuteness! 

Next was the piano time.  The kids practically ran to JH's piano and played to their hearts content...well as you see below Emme had had enough of Zackary's music!  Like she's 13 already! LOL

 She finally got her own time and had a blast playing.

Easter morning was special for us watching the kids open their baskets from the Easter bunny.  Emme got some yellow shoes and a yellow dress (hum Easter bunny has good taste) and some other toys.  

Zackary got some lollipops that he was more excited about than the toys, well the jellybeans were a huge hit too.  Literally, he spent an hour finding each one in the baskets and hidden in toys and then counted them and tried some.  Now I know what to do next year...jellybean trail to baskets (what Ben's Dad did Easter morning for the kids).

One See's lollipop for you, and one for me!!!  Took him months to eat those, by the way!  Such a good boy!

Garden Time

The whole family has been spending a lot of time out in our backyard and I love it. It's a little oasis for us all. Zackary loves cultivating his strawberries and pill bugs (hehe) and tomatoes and they both spend a lot of time playing with Zackary's fountain from Santa.  For me I can garden or just sit and watch the kids enjoy the plants, bugs and water and I love it!

Cooking Together

Okay I am back.  I have major updating to do for this blog it has been awhile.  It is July now and I am updating starting back at April.  Sharing highlights, fun moments, and sweet pics that take my breath away!  Here goes:
For awhile Zackary was enjoying cooking with Dad.  Instead of watching Dinosaur Train every night he wanted to help at dinner time.  I think it's a good sensory project for him to feel the food and squish it in his fingers.  Now being July he isn't into helping as much anymore...note to self-get him back in the kitchen for dinner!

I'm Walking

On her 14th month birthday exactly she started walking.  It wasn't preempted she just looked over at me and walked to me.  It was awesome.  I am so happy I was there, she picked me to walk to first as we shared such a special moment.  As the days went on she started walking with less assistance and now she's not holding her arms straight out like Frankenstein she's putting them to her side, so she's gaining confidence. It's been really surreal watching my daughter pass another milestone so quickly.  Slow down sister...I want to relish in each moment.

The drumstick she's carrying is her favorite.  If she has it in her hand, she's happy!  So easy to please, I wish I was like that!  :)

I love all the outfits.  Girls are fun to dress...and nothing looks bad on her.  She's a little model.

Moving On Up

Well 13.5 months and I am done breastfeeding. It was hard to stop but since she stopped latching in February I was pumping for the last month and I lost that connection with her so I knew I was done. I can't believe I made it though, 2 kids 2 years of breastfeeding! I am very proud of myself. It was important to me and with help and support I did it!

Another big first today on Emeline's 14 month birthday, she took her first steps to me. I didn't preempt her she just looked at me and started walking towards me. It was just me all alone with her and it was a perfect moment and I am so happy it was with her mommy! Ben and I were gone over the weekend and since we have been back Emme has been very attached to me which I am eating up and finding comfort in. She is definitely developing a strong personality and I love watching that happen.
The other day I was thinking about how powerful it is that we get to bring human beings into this world...to experience living, breathing and all the things that encompass earth. There is nothing like that. I can't imagine not having either of my kids in my world.

Small Moment Yet So Big

Zackary says last night after his bath, "I want to stay with you all the days."
