Happy 90th Birthday Grandpa, up in heaven

We celebrated a memory of your grandpa today and what would have been his 90th birthday.  It was a nice wish and moment for us to remember.  We all miss him so.

Uncle time

Chris was in town.  He spent some wonderful time with Zackary teaching him some soccer moves and going on a walk together.  He is a really good uncle to you both. 

Monterey, Lake Tahoe, Mammoth-2014 Summer Trip

We started our two week adventure out with a week in our favorite spot in California, Monterey.  We rented a home again and did all our favorite things.  Our first stop was Asilmar beach after stocking up on groceries.

 We then headed to the Monterey Warf and Aquarium to say hi to the otters, penguins and fish.

 Had to stop to see the bag piper at Spanish Bay.

And visit Carmel Beach with its white sand and view of Pebble Beach.

Then we headed to our favorite organic farm to pick some berries before dinner.

The seal lions are plenty here along the central coast and joy to watch.  

Next we headed up to Lake Tahoe and wow it was beautiful.  Grandma rented a home for us to stay at next to where her side family reunion was taking place and it was so pretty.  We really enjoyed our hikes to the lake, hanging out with family and thunder and lighting storm that was thrilling.

On our long drive home we stopped at Mammoth mountain and explored.  We enjoyed that so much we decided to go back next year to celebrate Dad's birthday there.  We found a park along a stream that was really nice.  The air was crisp, people nice and we stretched our legs for a long time.  It was a great family adventure.  

August Moments

We decided to spend the day with all the animals at the animal wildlife park. They had just opened the Tiger Trail.  Zackary loved all the animals while Emme you liked drawing pictures in the dirt.  To funny!  We spent a long time watching the elephants and their babies play in the water to keep cool.  

Game time.  Sequence is a favorite in this family.

Welcome our new bearded dragon Toothless.  We got him for your 6th birthday Zackary.  He is a really good dragon, and handles you well...:)  He's a perfect addition.

This is a rare picture.  A surfer at our beach enjoying the massive swell we had for two weeks while you guys play in the sand.  Kids weren't even allowed in the water this day.

Zackary you loved to go spend the weekend with Grandma at her home.  Summer is a great time to practice your lizard catching skills and here you caught one I had never seen before in all my years living there.  This is an alligator lizard.  They bite harder than a regular blue belly lizard and Grandma and you caught this little guy.  Grandpa would have been sooo proud.  

Best Fireworks Ever

We were so lucky to have our very own firework show right outside our living room window this year. It was so close and so amazing.  We woke both the kids up and they loved watching it. 

Grandma's 68th Birthday

Happy Happy Birthday Grandma.  More cake...yum!  We celebrated at her home with some of my friends and GG. 

Summertime sports

This summer you both tired tennis on top of tumblebugs (gymnastics) and swimming, and Emme you did a ball class that dabble in each sport.  Tennis by far was the most fun for you both.  One of mommy's favorite sports that she played in high school for a club. We will have to practice again next summer.
