Storytelling 5th Birthday Party

 Storytelling was the theme for Emelines 5th Birthday.  We had a company come to tell stories and put on a Red Riding Hood puppet show. An added bonus was the magic show at the end that the kids loved more than any other part of the show. 

All of the girls in Emme's class and one boy came.  She greeted each at the door with utter delight which was really cute.

Family sat close by as she blew out her candles with her friends waiting anxiously for some cake.  

Nicholas (whose not in her class) and her had sweet moments together.  

I made snacks that correlated to different children's books.  Then I set up decorations of books all around the house and also printed pages of her favorite books to hang as added decor.  It was so much fun putting it all together and coming up with ideas.  We originally had the whole party set up outside.  Just as we finished it started to drizzle.  We made a good decision to move it inside cause the skies didn't stop and everything was saturated after an hour.

Fifth Birthday with Classmates and Family

Emme's Pre-K teacher Ms. Zigler is adorable.  She makes each feel so special and proud on their birthday. Emeline held the flag and lead the class to Pledge of Allegiance.  Then she built a felt cake as her teacher told a story of how the angels brought her into my arms.  Afterwards I stayed for snack time which included a special birthday treat from Emme. 

That night we had yummy cake and watched our 5 year old open her presents.

She got really into opening her presents as you can see her climbing on grandma to get to her biggest present-Star lilly!
It was a great Fifth Birthday!

Giant Playground of Beauty

We love taking the kids to the golf course.  Nice to be close to home but feel like you are in the middle of the country.  Kids practiced their swing while Emme tried her hand at driving!  Good way to start learning. 

Field Trip at the Beach

Zackary's first field trip brought him to the beach in Laguna.  The kids explored tide pools, learned about currents, found rocks and shells and played together.  

It was a really beautiful day and Zackary was definitely in his element.  It was a joy chaperoning to get to know his classmates better and see him interact with them all.
