Side Notes

A couple of side notes
1. Go Lakers...just to remind you Zackary...your home town b-ball team one the national championship this year-2009!
2. Ben was one year old when Elvis Priestly passed away and Zackary is almost one with Michael Jackson passing away. I don't believe all the rumors about him. I can't even imagine what it would be like growing up with your whole life in the spotlight..and having a hard childhood...and not knowing what it's like to even be a child for that matter. His music is great, Thriller was and will remain one of my favorites! Hope you like his music too one day Zackary.

Friends and Fathers

Zackary is now 9 1/2 months old. Our biggest events lately have been hanging out with baby friends around his age and Father's Day!!! As you can see in the picture above he was fascinated with little Kayden's face. He's always trying to grab other babies faces, it's so funny. He did so well with them though, that's Madison in the background (she shared her finger foods) and it was fun watching them all play together with each other's toys. The two boys were wanting to play with the same ball and Madison was watching in the background! Zackary got the ball at one point from him but then when Kayden got it he acted ok with sharing! My little man is growing!

Happy Father's Day DADA...Zackary and I woke up and surprised Dada with some First Father's Day presents (i-pod, cd's,). Then we promtly got in the car and drove to my mom's to take John, my stepdad, out to breakfast while my mom babysat (makes it easier on mom and dad focusing on some time with John while eating too)!! After, we played, watched the US Open and went around showing Zackary all the fun things that he can't play with (which is like everything-haha) at Grandpa and Grandma's house. I was hoping that Zackary would say Mama for the first time on Father's Day because on Mother's Day that is when he said Dada for the first time!!!! But to no prevail.

I felt bad for Ben because the rest of Ben's Father's Day he watched Zackary for me outside of a hospital because Baba (my Dad's mom) has been ill. So I hope I made the morning and early afternoon somewhat special for Dada.

Zackary had a fun time talking and playing with Grandpa. I can't wait for Zackary to get a little older so they can go on hikes. John will make certain that Zackary notices's every bit of nature around him...which is very important to me and a gift that John carries along with his innate ability to tell incredible stories. I used to love story time before bed...tales of Heidi were my favorite.

On the Move!!!

An update, our road trip and Both our Birthdays!!!

Oh my gosh, I had 4 picture of the weeks so far with no real written blogs. It's been way to long. Sorry for anybody that reads this. We have been so busy with life, I have a hard time finding moments to blog on all that is going on. Here are our most recent family happenings...enjoy.

Happy Birthday to my muffin man. We both celebrated the same day-June 11th, him turning 9 months and I turning a whoppin' 33 years old. I remember so clearly when I turned 32 actually looking forward to it because it's my favorite number. I hoped that since it was my favorite number I would have the best year ever! Well I did...cause I was successfully pregnant and had my healthy little boy! The year went by so fast but it will be in my heart forever. Glad we could share our birthday's together monkey!

Zackary has grown so much since my last blog. An update at now 9 months old:
My favorite is him giving big open mouth kisses now...so cute...to Ben and I and sometimes to his brown bear book!
He is eating solids well, loves them all but the greens except he does like Broccoli so far. He drinks 5-8 ounces of water mixed with 2 ounces of juice a day...along with his breast milk. Needless to say he's getting chubby legs! :)
He is scooting along the floor, and getting faster and faster. Hmmm...note to self, ask someone how to prevent knee rug burn!
He loves all his toys (especially his ball, giraffe, blocks and music toys), his saucers, and watching him bounce in his doorway bouncer-oh my gosh, it's hysterical! He looks like an Irish dancer!
His time with Dad is becoming more and more special to him. He just loves their games, walks in the Bjorn, secret language and story time. And I must say Ben is an outstanding father.
Zackary loves to say DaDa too!
He is learning to hi five, clap and drink from a sippy cup!
He sleeps great at night (bed at 5:30ish, waking up once to feed, but naps in short spurts throughout the day. His new thing is to get up around 5am and drive mama crazy!
He's starting to understand a lot more, and developing quite the personality. When he wants something he WANTS it. He's very ticklish like his Dad.
Since the last post he has been swimming in a pool for the first time, sipped water through a straw, had many family members visit him including Ben's mom from Illinois and my cute brothers, road tripped it to San Luis Obispo and Monterey, wore his first pair of shoes from Baby Gap, ate a pear with mom, and so much more.

This was the first weekend of June. We drove up to SLO for my Father's surprise retirement party, and then we drove on up to Monterey for 2 days to celebrate Ben and my 2 year anniversary. One of our favorite places is Spanish Bay so we spent awhile there. It was sunny, beautiful and the ocean boosted 3 different shades of blue! Zackary was so funny on the grass. He didn't want his hands and toes to touch it so he kept trying to figure out how to hold them all up off of it at once. We were cracking up! Later we checked out the tidal pools at Asilomar Beach.

We spent some time doing the tourist 17-mile drive thing, and stopped at the Lone Cypress Tree! Zackary's only other trips have been to Las Vegas, twice. So it was fun taking him to our old stomping grounds. Till the next trip.
