Spring Break Week 2015

Nicholas-Emeline's current best friend.  They are super cute together and to start the week off we all went to San Juan Capistrano to a farm called Zoomars where they have tons of guinea pigs you can hold and feed, horses to ride, farm animals to feed, rocks to dig out, massive amounts of corn to lay in and train rides.

Emeline was so gentle with these little talking guinea pigs..feeding them and giving them cuddles.  

Here is the corn bin.  Slightly grossed me out but the kids had so much fun playing in it!

Our second day we went to La Brea Tar Pits in LA.  We had so much fun.  Seeing the awe of what they found here through Zackarys eyes was worth the whole trip.  

They were really sad about the mom being stuck in the tar calling for her family on the shore.  There is still tar coming up, it is really quite incredible.

Our third day we went to a local place called Environmental Nature Center.  There is an education room to teach you about animals we might find out in the nature while hiking and then there are tons of hiking trails and a butterfly garden.  We had a nice peaceful time.

They loved the stream the best.  We saw a lot of small insects and cool things.

Our forth day we painted rocks from Grandpa's celebration two years ago and wrote names of herbs, vegetables, fruits and sayings like "breathe, nourish, peace, etc...We then placed them all over our yard.  This was probably my favorite.

The fifth day we took our kites to the beach and flew them.  Emeline really enjoyed that.  It was a very lovely day and rounded up our week of bonding and resting together. 

The Easter Bunny Came to Our House!

Good morning...the Easter Bunny came to our house and hid baskets and eggs everywhere.  So much fun.  

I love how you slowly looked through all your baskets, carefully and excitedly...playing immediately with what catches your eye.  "Oh Flamingo."

I think you were just interested in finding the candy hidden in your baskets.  Only took us about 4 months to eat it all up!

Carrying on the Serbian Pancake tradition.  Thanks Daddy, they were yummy!

That afternoon we headed to Grandmas cause the Easter bunny showed up there too and hid eggs everywhere in her big backyard.  It was a beautiful day and you two found all the eggs in record time.  We just missed Grandpa there with us, but I think he was watching and there in spirit.  

Where's your basket???  Keep looking...I see it!

Easter Egg Coloring Moments

We had so much fun as we do every year coloring eggs.  I think this year our eggs turned out the most colorful then ever.  And the two easter aprons you two wore made the whole thing worth it.  

It's hard to wait patiently for an egg to take up its color.  Zackary you liked to move the eggs into each color or mix two together...keep moving.  Emme you were more patient and waited for your egg to turn its gorgeous color.  Even your personalities come out with dying eggs.  I love to watch this.

"Ew...you want me to eat this egg?!"

Train Tracks

Zackary has gotten really really good at using all his tracks and making a different railroad each day or week.  Really quite amazing what he comes up with.  

The Big 4th at Disneyland!

This is what a full day at Disneyland for your 4th Birthday will do to a princess-puts you into a deep sleep, wand in hand!  And boy did she have so much fun.  Below are the highlights or her two days...jumping between parks, going on roller coasters, and sharing the fairy dust with her brother and grandma too.

At Ariel's Grotto Emme got to enjoy a birthday dinner with all her favorite princesses.  Belle above (in my favorite disney dress) and below Rapunzel and Ariel.

Mickey and Minnie were followed by Emme throughout both days, repeatedly having hugs and pictures taken, with the help of the rest of the gang...pluto, goofy, daisy and donald.  She would scream hello and wave at them until they paid attention to her.  Determined to say the least!

Little Emme Mouse!  She was in heaven!

Doc McStuffins was definitely one of her highlights.  She showed up to say hello just at the right time...and got to go on a walk with Doc!  I couldn't get over Doc's big head.  

Daddy was definitely reluctant to have Emme go on the Cars Land rollar coaster but I said there is no time like today...and although she screamed and was a bit scared she loved it too.  Her first roller coaster with her Dad and Mom...priceless!

Another highlight...meeting Queen Elsa and Princess Anna from Frozen.  She was nervous to meet them, especially Elsa (she didn't want to be turned into ice) but she didn't stop talking about it after.  They were so sweet with her...it was really a special moment.  The building you wait in to before going into the room with them is really amazing...keeps your attention.

Buzz Lightyears ride...playing a giant videogame...another favorite for us all!

Calm in Grandma's hands...waiting for the parade.  End of the day...joy!

Carousel...really how many times we went on this when there are so many other rides...I had to put a stop to it.  I can take you to the local mall and we can do the carousel there!  Let's go on some Disney rides!  HaHa.

Emme's birthday breakfast was the Disney gang.  They made us gluten free pancakes, and cookies...and it was so good. 

 Emme you were to afraid of Goofy so you were on the sidelines...but you were there!

A view of Disneyland Hotel and pools!  We love you honey...Happy 4th Birthday.  You mean so much to us and fill our hearts with so much joy.  Your determination is remarkable and will take you far.  I loved experiencing Disneyland through your eyes...your belief and imagination made me feel excited like a child again to meet the characters and go on the rides.  You are always sprinkling your pixie dust on our hearts and minds...like no one else could.  Thank you for your cuddles and love...for your hugs and sas!

Happiness is a Horse

Grandma is lucky to have a horse trail along side her house that leads up to the mountains and down to the streams.  You both loved to go on spider hunts and as a side joy would say hello to the horses.  I loved watching your huge smiles as you watched and pet the horses...filling you up as we went along.
