Mothers Day

My annual favorite Mother's Day to the Montage Laguna Beach.  We hang out on the beach and eat lunch and relax.  It was a beautiful day and a nice Mothers Day. 

Best Friends

Emme your first two best friends were boys, Justin and Nicholas.  You were invited to a bounce house party with all of your friends.  You had so much fun.  Here you are with Justin above, and Nicholas (blonde) below and Justin.  

Continuing Grandpa's Annual Hike to Sturtevant Falls

I decided upon the passing of your grandpa we would keep his annual hike tradition going to Sturtevant Falls each spring.  Since I can remember at a young age he has been inviting around 25 to come to our home for a tour of his artifacts and then off to hike till the afternoon.  Everyone getting to know each other at lunchtime and the extraordinary lives each person lead.  One spring he took me and my friends further to the top of the falls and that was thrilling.  The hike we normally do is a 4 mile hike total to the waterfalls.  Dense forest in some areas, others hiking with dogs and children, streams to cross, snakes and butterflies, lunch at the waterfalls, serenity and memories captivate the morning and early afternoon.  You leave feeling proud, one with nature and with new friends.  Each year I hope to invite others to join as well.  

Zackary had a fun time hiking finding a lot of rocks and enjoying his time with us. 

May Faire

Zackary is walking calmly with Ms. Gaylin and his class to May Faire.  Every year in May the Journey Students welcome in summer with May Faire festival.  It's a wonderful tradition with a lot of symbolic events going on.  The mom's make the wreaths for the kids hair and everyone has to wear light colors.  It was hot but a lot of fun to watch.  Kindergärtners do not participate until first grade. After it's over we all have lunch together.

Look at my sweet peaceful, happy child.  Always making me smile.   

Easter Time 2014

Our Easter Tradition through pictures.  Easter morning the Easter bunny hides baskets around the house like he used to do for mommy.  We spend the morning hunting and then going through the baskets to see whats inside.

We always have Serbian pancakes with butter, syrup and powerderd sugar on top, which are so yummy.  

 On our way to Grandma's we stopped at the Serbian Cemetery to say hello to your great grandfather.  It's a beautiful cemetery.  

Easter time at Grandmas.  She does a good job at being the easter bunny and makes it so special.  The flowers were all blooming and looked beautiful and you both always have fun looking for all the hidden eggs and special baskets.

The best part...us being together.  

Spring Break Activities

Spring break time means "mommy needs to get creative time."  We had 5 days and I put together something fun each day.  So day ONE was beach day...laying out the blankets, getting some sun and all that was needed was a pail and shovel...well and snacks!  It was a very relaxing day.

Day TWO involved some Easter decoration making. We took shaving creme mixed with paint and layed papers cut out as eggs and tye dyed them. Turned out really cute and you guys had so much fun making them and getting your hands all squishy with the shaving creme.

Day THREE was playdough day.  I thought we have all this playdough, lets get it all out and every tool we have and just make stuff...and you did!  

Day FOUR we played with our games and puzzles we have.  Magnatiles has been a favorite of both of yours for awhile building very creative things.  

Day FIVE was a trip to the tide pools at The Montage in Laguna Beach.  The tide was going out so there was plenty to investigate, climb, lift, seek out and touch.  That day was a favorite of mine.  It was a fun spring break where we didn't have to spend money, pack to go somewhere, used our minds to have fun together and utilize the time with what we have available.  Can't wait for next Spring Break!
