Spending Some Time With Our Favorite GG

You two had such a special connection with your Great Grandma.  She loved you tremendously.  In her last years you both brought her energy, laughter, happiness, ultimately so much joy! 

A couple facts about GG.  She loved the color purple.  She felt it represented peace, love and heaven.  She hated the colors red and black...thinking they meant hell and the devil.  She had a routine for each day of the week.  Monday was laundry day.  Friday was water the plants day.  She ate oatmeal with tons of supplements in it like lecithin, flax seed, oat, wheat bran, a liquid vitamin, and half and half.  She had vegetable soup for lunch (being a vegetarian since she was a teenager) with cheese toast, some nuts and some potato chips, always at noon.  She had a snack in the afternoon of fruits usually.  Dinner started with a small green iceberg salad mixed with avocado, shaved zucchini, cabbage and cut up carrots and tomatoes, topped with homemade ranch...yummy.  Some form of protein was next, usually spaghetti, vege patti, egg, etc.. with milk.  She had a big Tupperware cookie container that when I was little I used to get to pick cookies out of after my vege soup and dinners.  That is a favorite memory, not to mention the home made amazing vegetable soup she made.  She watched a lot of political shows and religious shows on tv.  She believed deeply in a religious group called "I AM" which her mother belonged to and she always felt a since of connection with her through her religion.

She had insane control of her mind.  She would tell her colds and aches and pains to "go away, get out of my body."  Her main focus in life was to learn to not criticize, condemn of judge.  That was hard for her and something she was still trying to master till the end.  She was such a hard worker always out in the garden tending to her must have tomato plants, or trying to fix something herself somewhere in her house or washing her windows or watering her lawn...always busy.  She was strong, so strong, both physically and mentally.  She was determined to financially take care of her family.  She never went out with friends, listened to music, or would drink alcohol, smoke or do any drugs.  She saved and froze everything.  She had a love hate relationship with food...liking it when others made it for her but hating making it herself which lead to not being to creative with meals.  She took me to see ET when it first came out in the theaters, and I went with her and Great Grandpa to see the first Jurassic Park in the movie theaters...it was so fun.  Most of my memories with her are so special and sweet.  How lucky you both lived with her for the first 6 years of your life Zackary and Emme the first 3.5.  She moved in with Grandma when she hurt her back for some extra help.  Look at the picture above...we are all in those moments now...but I am obviously writing this for the future.

First Time Ice Skating

Ice Skating...Zackary tried...longer than Emme...Emme cried a lot and was scared.  Mommy is not good enough to help you and herself...fun trying...was quick money spent...well spent!

Big Bear 2014

Another birthday for Daddy, another celebration up in Big Bear with our family friends the G's.  We had so much fun playing in the small amount of snow on the ground, going out sledding, dinner dates, and watching the kids play together. 

Whenever there is a party Emme is the first to be there to open the presents, blow out the candles, and make the cake.  

 Happy 38th Birthday To Dad!

We went to the local Zoo one day.  They take animals that need rehabilitation in.  Above a black bear just got fed and you kids are watching what he choses to eat and how he eats it.  Fish, apples, carrots,etc.  

We saw wolves, coyotes, bears, birds and bison. The wolves and bears were the coolest to watch.
